Everything in it's place

Now that the holiday decorations are out of site and the house is clean,
I'm in major de-clutter and organize mode.
When you're storage challenged like I am, you have to find creative solutions to hide the necessary junk in our lives.
I thought I was creative by making sink skirts to hide the bathroom stuff, but the ideas below are way outside of my scope, but cool nonetheless.

Hang old drawer pulls on the wall near your front door and use shower curtain rod clips to hold keys and stuff.
Place a silver dome on top of your stack of bills and mail.

Use a vintage cup to hold pens and notes.
A small silver dish can be used to hold paper clips and small necessities.

Dedicate an entire wall as a 'faux' bulletin board by gluing batting and thick paper with ribbon detail to it.
I actually have a magnetic knife holder stuffed away somewhere in my kitchen. Once I find it I'll hang it vertically near our backdoor and use magnetic clips to hold our keys.

You can use adhesive clips to hang old forks and use them to post notes or important business contact cards.

Use an old retractable ruler as a card or note holder.

Egg cups used for office storage necessities such as paper clips, thumb tacks, stamps, rubber bands, clothes pins and of course flowers.

Attach molding to a regular dry erase board and voila~
a much more chic and custom board for notes or artwork.

Don't have an extra desk sitting out in the garage?
Go to Lowe's and purchase a plain door. Paint it and prop on file cabinets or some cool painted banisters as legs and you have a desk.

This is my favorite....
an old muffin tin as a desk drawer organizer~ so clever!

Back to organizing....busy, busy~!

  2. I love the idea of an entire wall being the bulletinboard, and the muffin tins are so cute. I think there is some serious organizing to do this weekend!!

  4. Don't you just love the feeling of peace you get once you organize a space and de-clutter??? Last year was my "SIMPLIFY" year and I can't begin to tell you how many bags (and bags and bags) of things I brought to our local charity. I think that helped me part with more than I would have - knowing it was going to someone who actually needed vs. my desire to simply keep it.
    Good luck with your project!
